One of our absolute favorite labels in the game - Wych - just dropped a melter of an EP from Bristol's Sir Hiss last week. Keeping consistent to the label's aesthetic, the EP features 2 melodic and spacey tracks from Sir Hiss as his debut on Wych, paired along with a remix from the label's vanguard K-LONE. We first heard of this label following the release of WYCH002 that featured K-LONE's track and new-age 140 anthem, Barbarossa; its been inspiring to see how the label's signature sound and presence in the industry has evolved since then and the direction they're heading with WYCH004.

The EP starts off with Sir Hiss' Keygen, a track that feels like a trip to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory on LSD. The chords greet you into the track until about 30 seconds in when all your worlds fold into one another. A melancholy lead giving off classic GameBoy vibes guides your through the remainder of the track. The tune's liquidity between the song's different segments is seamless, floating bass-lines in and out along with the chords we've been enjoying since the track's start. A song that truly sounds happily sad.

The next track off WYCH004 is Anatolian Heartland; the tune enters dark and dreary, leading you to a drop that will provide nothing short of goosebumps. The crispiness of drums, the dramatic piano melody and that stabby sub-bass all sums up to some seriously emotional vibes. The interlude creates quite some suspense and for good reason as the switch up the second drop offers is tough! Interestingly enough, WYCH004 closes with the Wych and Wisdom Teeth boss man himself, K-LONE; offering up his remix of Anatolian Heartland. His take on this track is a tad more lighthearted than the original; touting those signature K-LONE's canorus sounds and silly Yoshi-esque samples.

That all being said, you can expect Sir Hiss' Keygen EP on repeat over here at SBE HQ. Be sure to head over to Wych's Bandcamp to secure a vinyl while supplies last and shoot Sir Hiss a follow on his socials as this will not be the last time you'll be hearing his name! Massive ups to Wych for such a killer release and we cannot wait to see what they're cooking up down the line!
